The global COVID-19 pandemic has turned the world upside. Suddenly, the world has a desperate need for face masks so that essential healthcare workers can continue to save countless lives. JTL Designs was gearing up to launch the spring collection, but Julia knew she needed to take action. Her priorities shifted; she is now using her talent and her skills to make protective masks for hundreds of healthcare workers in the Philadelphia area.

Julia’s home studio has been transformed. Her love of fabric has proven immensely useful as she transforms yards upon yards of beautiful patterns into these life-saving devices. She has sent them out to friends and family, who regularly send her snaps looking incredibly stylish in their new facewear. 

Recently featured in Metro Philadelphia, Julia and her Philadelphia Fashion Incubator colleagues are moving forward with this initiative at full force. In a global crisis such as this, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and helpless. To Julia and all of those using their talents to make a difference in the health of U.S. citizens’: we thank you.
